Spring turns to summer

The end of the 4th year of medical school was just as blessedly relaxing and awesome as we were promised.  Chris finished his last "rotation", wilderness medicine (read: camping and rock climbing as class credit), the first week of April.  From April until now, we've been living it up (except for one small hang-up...see next post)!  A trip to Florida, going to parks, frequenting the farmer's market, mixed in with lots of to-do's that we finally have more time to do.  Oh, and we also packed up our apartment, piled all of our stuff in Chris's folks' garage (bless their souls), and have been happily homeless and living with the in-laws for the past 2 weeks.

Though we wouldn't want it to continue forever...I think...there is something very freeing about being without a job, without a home, without a calling.  It's the ultimate vacation.  Hard-earned, and won't come again for a long time.  Or maybe ever.

Random highlights...

J warming up for his first tractor pull.
At the Safari Animal Park with Heather and her peeps, Emily and her peeps, and Aunt Anne (did I mention that J has some amazing aunts?  Lucky duck!).
My favorite was the water buffalo gate keeper.
 Feeding alligators in Florida.
This is a real live liger.  Honest.  We saw him at the Big Cat Habitat.
J meeting the goats at the petting zoo.  He kept trying to swat them like he does his toy cars.
J and Grandpa contemplating the ocean.
J and Gigi enjoying the spray grounds.
J assisting with the packing.  And the entertainment.
