So, you might ask, besides growing, birthing, and growing a baby, what have those Baileys been up to?
We got a bird feeder (clearly, after 5 years of marriage, we have now truly arrived).
We saw wild ponies up-close and, with our friends Kaycie and Merrill, discovered Prometheus' secret at Assateague Island.
We had a wicked "microburst" - this is in the parking lot of our apartment complex.
We visited with family.
We went to the Safari Animal park with Emily and her peeps.
This is called a watusi cow.
I ran the Women's 4 Miler again with my mom - this time, joining the ranks of cancer survivors! (The race raises money for cancer research.)
We attended the Rally to Restore Sanity on the National Mall and met one of Chris's fave celebrities.
We celebrated Christmas by making some sweet gingerbread houses (notice the snowman fishing pond) and hanging with the fam.
We went to the temple for the last time as a family of two.
I retired from my job at UVa, Chris finished his third year of medical school, and I started my gig as the Family Housing President (free rent in exchange for planning parties).
Fourth year and ice cream social, here we come!

Great update!
Hooray! I'm so glad you're blogging again! Little J is adorable just like his parents!
That microburst did look wicked-yikes!
We got a bird feeder this year too. I think it's a sign of real maturity.
Love the bird feeder. For some reason I thought that would be a great idea- then all these dang birds kept hanging out in our yard! The pigeons were the worst. They pooped all over our landscaping bricks.
That said, Ryan loved looking at the birds and there were some cool ones(i.e. NOT pigeons). When we ran out of bird seed our bird feeder days were done. Here's to hoping your experience goes better. I am willing to bet VA has better birds than NV.
Fortunately no pigeons. Mostly cardinals, blue jays, little woodpeckers, nuthatches and a host of smaller birds I don't know the names of. They are fun to watch, though they do make a big mess on our porch. Which the female cardinals come and pick up once the feeder is empty, but never the males. Go figure :)
