forgive me

To whatever readership I have left after such a long dearth of new posts, I apologize. What could possibly have kept me away for so long? I have had an almost disgusting amount of free time since our relocation to the best place in the world (if all of my family and UNC-Chapel Hill were there, that is)--Charlottesville, Virginia--so I can't claim the "too busy" card. Although you would be surprised how much time can be absorbed by "shopping" on craigslist to completely furnish an empty living room.

Ironically, just as I am feeling inclined to blog again, I will no longer have such wide expanses of unscheduled hours. Because I start my very first real job a week from today. That's right, salary, benefits, office, 401k...the whole shebang. I actually negotiated my salary, which made me feel like a real live grown up. And then I hung up the phone and did a very silly, non-grown up victory dance (involving some very impressive spins) in my pajamas.

I will be working as a clinical research coordinator at UVA. I have to learn to draw blood, take EKG's, and handle a ridiculous amount of paperwork. In my interview, my boss asked me whether I would be comfortable talking to people about sex since some of the clinical studies have to do with restoring libido. I wisely resisted the urge to bust out a little Salt and Peppa. You never know if people are early 90's music fans or not...better not to risk it, I figured. And I guess I figured right.

The end for now. And I promise I'll blog again soon.

That's the great thing about subscribing to RSS feeds: someone can stop posting for a while, then pick it back up and have their readers notified in an instant! Welcome back to the blogosphere - and the East Coast! w00t! :)

Med school has kept Chris busy, but he seems to be enjoying it!

Welcome back. :)

Congratulations on the new job. (And by the way, the whole thing on libido was really funny!) And welcome to the world of "real live grown ups." OK, so I have absolutely no experience in any job outside of BYU student employment, let alone one with benefits and the chance to negotiate salary--but I figure something about three children qualifies me for the label of "grown up" in some way, too. :) At least I hope so... :)

I forgave you, but now I am starting to second guess my decision. It is now almost Nov. and we have yet to see another post from you. I think your friends and family are starting to feel Rachel deprivation.
