I walked out of MARB 455 at 9:33 a.m. yesterday and...graduated. Last final accomplished. So although I won't walk until August since we'll be out of town, I'm effectively done with college.
It was so terribly anticlimatic. I went and cleaned out my locker and bought myself a Jamba Juice for old time's sake (whatever that phrase means). I suppose that's the point of going to graduation. Having a climax, that is.
But I should really stop being so dramatic. After all, I'm not even leaving BYU. I'll start grad school here in the fall. Oh, I guess that's big news - I got accepted to the Master's program in the physiology and developmental biology department. They'll actually pay me to go to school for 2 years. It doesn't seem right. To pay me to take classes, that is. It feels so backwards after the last 4 years. But I guess it will be a refreshing reversal. And, let's be honest, they're not paying much.
Someday though, I won't be a student anymore, and no one will be evaluating me and comparing me to my subset of peers and giving me a number that tells me how well I have performed in that slice of life called school. I wonder how that will feel.
Any comments? Questions? Because I still have plenty...
p.s. Chris and I leave for the Galapagos Islands on Thursday for 11 days, after which we will be going to Cancun for 5 days, so hopefully when I get back I can learn how to post pictures on here and you can all enjoy the beauty with us.
